modern standards. Casa Vista Mercado is an elegantly furnished
city dream (propiedad horizontal) in the heart of the
old and beautiful quarter of San Telmo. San Telmo is one
of the oldest and best preserved barrios of Buenos Aires.
The neighborhood is known for its colonial architecture,
cafes/restaurants, tango places and antique shops. Only
one block from the house you will find Plaza Dorrego,
famous for its antique markets every Sunday. Mercado San
Telmo from 1897 is situated across the street, where there
still is a lively fruit, meat and antique market inside.
The building is dated from around 1900 and is built mainly
in French style. It was owned by the same Argentinian
family until 1989, and was in that period visited by local
celebrities and two Argentinian presidents. The walls,
doors, ceiling cornices through out the 1st floor are
paneled in pure Louis the 16th motifs. Both living rooms
with french balconies, have beautiful painted ceilings.
Most of the rooms have exquisite crystal chandeliers.
On three levels (1st, 2nd and 3rd floor) you are offered
160 sq.meters indoor and additional 100 sq.meters terrace
(with parrilla/barbecue), all totally renovated in 2007
and restored back to its original style. From the terrace
on two different levels, there is a magnificent panoramic
view over SanTelmo and towards the Mercado. Sitting on
the top terrace in the evening watching the sunset, is
pure magic.
The house is an absolutely indescribable gem, it has to

the original "pinotea" (scandinavian wood) and tiles,
to the ceilings with beautiful paintings.
To stay in this residence is like taking a trip back in
time to the golden era of Buenos Aires, yet with all the

antiques and pieces of art.
The entrance to the apartment from ground floor is via
marble stairs to the first floor. Here you will find two
romantic living rooms with french balconies and a dining

From the dining room you enter a quiet corner of the house

pass the mezzanine with a small library and then reach
the second floor, with another two bedrooms, both with
queen size beds and a complete bathroom.

two floor terrace where you can enjoy sunny days and beautiful
evenings with a spectacular view. You will also find a
large Argentine grill/parrilla combined with a fireplace
on the terrace.
